Finally, would you be willing to help us promote the Bloomington Farmers Market?  We have some excellent lawn signs that need a good home!  We are looking for people to help us promote the market by putting up a lawn sign to remind their neighbors to join us at the market on Saturday mornings.  We are asking people to put the signs out each Friday, prior to the market, and take them down on Saturday afternoon, following the market.  They are a great way for you to show community pride and help get word out about our market.  Stop by the City tent for more information or to pick up a sign.

Meet the Vendor - I Got Cheese

cheese

Scott Graham has been selling Wisconsin made cheese for over 25 years.  Ever since receiving his degree in agricultural business, Scott has been working with Wisconsin cheese makers. More recently he brought his business "I Got Cheese" back to Minnesota.

With over 35 cheeses from which to choose "I Got Cheese" has something for everyone.  I always knew that Wisconsin was dairy-land and that it offers great cheeses but what I didn't know was why.  According to Scott, the land in Green, Iowa, and Dodge counties in Wisconsin are ideal for making flavorful, unique cheese.  The soil is rich in limestone and other minerals, which flavor the water and grass that the dairy cows consume.  Combined with the region's temperate climate and plentiful rainfall, these conditions create the perfect environment for the production of the rich, sweet milk used in the creation of their cheeses.

Cheese has been made in this part of Wisconsin for more than a century.  Many of the artisans who make the cheese are of Swiss and German heritage.  Their immigrant ancestors knew this region of the United States was perfect for keeping their traditions alive.  Many of today's craftsmen use traditions, skills and recipes that have been passed down for generations.

Scott takes great pride in working with these craftsmen and small dairies to bring this wonderful assortment of cheese to the Farmers Market.  You will find "I Got Cheese" on the South side of the Market, be sure to stop by for a sample!
