City park rules

'No pets allowed on beach' sign.

The City of Bloomington is strongly committed to ensuring that everyone who uses our park system will have a great experience. We do have some "ground rules" to limit behaviors that can damage the parks or reduce the quality of other users' experience while in the parks.

  • General rules for parks and playgrounds
See City Code, Chapter 5, Article III, Sections 20 - 22
Defines what constitutes a City park, lists activities not allowed in parks, and provides information about the penalties for violating park rules.
  • Use of public waters
See City Code, Chapter 5, Article IV
Restrictions on the use of public waters.
  • Pedestrian walkways, bikeways
See City Code, Chapter 8, Article IV, Section 96
Restrictions on the use of pedestrian pathways and bikeways.
  • Bloomington scooter laws
The Bloomington Police Department page describes City ordinances regarding trail bikes, mini-bikes, powerboards, go-carts and scooters on public and private property in Bloomington.
  • Park shelter reservations
