Enjoy the beautiful summer nights and take in a show at the Normandale Lake Bandshell.
Free performances featuring music and dance are Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 7
p.m.
Parking is free and available in the 84th Street and Chalet Road parking lots. Bring your
blankets and lawn chairs for comfortable seating.

Minnesota Symphonic Winds
– Founded in 1978, the Minnesota Symphonic Winds celebrates its 30th season delivering the finest symphonic concert band literature to audiences in the Twin Cities and around the world.
The ensemble consists of more than 90 musicians who rehearse weekly from September through early June.The Minnesota Symphonic Winds provides an opportunity for musicians who might not otherwise have an outlet for their musical expression and talent to participate actively and regularly in musical performance.

This year the South of the River Community Band celebrates its twentieth season. Band members chose their favorite music from the past years and share them with you.

Minnesota Jazz Orchestra
– Listen... the sounds of Frank Sinatra, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller and more. It's the Minnesota Jazz Orchestra playing swing that's so real; so gutsy and smooth you'll want to dance to it all night. Whether you desire the coolness of "I Get a Kick Out Of You", the slow passionate crescendos in "When I Fall In Love", the swinging beat of "Sing, Sing, Sing", or even latins and waltzes, MJO delivers a full big band sound the way you've heard only on CD's... better yet, it's live!

Galactic Cowboy Orchestra
– A unique and powerful musical ensemble that fuses an eclectic mix of original and traditional bluegrass-edged tunes with jazz and world/fusion elements.
Their music is Chick Corea meets The Dixie Dregs meets A Prairie Home Companion. The mix ranges from highly accessible bluegrass tunes to extreme arrangements of East Indian ragas. GCO's instrumentation includes guitar, fiddle, bass and drums.

– The Bavarian Musikmeisters, is a group of about 30 musicians from in the Twin Cities area who play authentic Germanic festive music (Blasmusik), similar to that performed by bands in German and Austrian Villages. This type of band (Blaskapelle)performed at various village functions such as festivals, concerts, weddings, and occasions. Authentic instrumentation and apparel bring to life the genuine Germanic music. |
