General information

We, Bloomington Public Health and partners, are currently implementing initiatives in our communities, schools, worksites and healthcare facilities to prevent obesity and tobacco use.

We will award 10-15 SHIP mini-grants for initiatives that support healthy living in Bloomington, Edina or Richfield. Applicants may apply for $500 to $5,000.

Eligibility

Any organization may apply for a mini-grant. Proposals are eligible if they meet the following criteria:

  • Are part of a larger, coordinated plan for policy, systems, or environmental change
  • Reduce tobacco exposure, increase physical activity, or improve nutrition
  • Take place in a school, community, worksite, or healthcare setting
  • Take place in Bloomington, Edina, or Richfield

Timeline

  • Proposals due April 15, 2010, 4:30 p.m.
  • Grants announced May 17, 2010
  • Grant period from May 18, 2010 to December 31, 2010
  • Final reports due January 31, 2011
