Support Bloomington's Polar Plunge team!

Our team will "go jump in a lake" for Special Olympics

Brrr! Officers jump into a hole in Prior Lake's ice sheet.

Members of the Bloomington Police Department are taking the 3rd Annual Polar Plunge on February 17 to raise money for Special Olympics.

Last year, a total of 44 people represented the Bloomington Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 21, with more than 20 people jumping into the icy cold waters of Prior Lake. Several more department members made pledges and attended the event to cheer on the plungers. The BPD raised $6,009 for Special Olympics.

This year's competition has really heated up. In the early stages, the Bloomington Police Department's team was in the number one slot for money raised by a Law Enforcement team; but a strong showing by supporters of the Anoka County and Brooklyn Center PD dropped our team to third place.

That's cold. Let's just say that the Bloomington Police Department team does not like to be B-Team players in anything, and they definitely do not want to finish in third place.

Our fundraisers are fighting back. But they need your hometown support in order to prevail. Please go to the link below and pledge for one of our officers.

Thanks for supporting this event. This is a great way to support your Police Department and raise money for Special Olympics.
