Licensed haulersThe City of Bloomington requires garbage haulers to be licensed by the City if they intend to pick up garbage within Bloomington. ![]() Yard waste, Christmas tree disposalLeaves, grass and branches less than 4" in diameter and bundled can be picked up by your trash hauler for a fee. Leaves, grass, branches, stumps, logs and all other yard waste can be taken to the Mulch Store (previously Resource Recovery Technology) in Burnsville (one mile west of 35W off Cliff Road). During the ash tree quarantine, only evergreen tree trimmings are being accepted. Call 952-736-1915 for details, hours and fees. Wood and waste from ash trees cannot be moved outside Hennepin County. Christmas trees: All licensed haulers collect trees for a limited time after the holidays. Please contact your hauler for their specific requirements. Reduce your garbage and reduce your billCompost and recycle all that you can to reduce the volume of your garbage. You can pay a lower rate if you have less garbage because most haulers offer volume-based fees – a smaller bin costs less than a larger one.
