In the news: Compostable bags now required for yard waste

A law went into effect for the seven-county metro area on January 1, 2010, requiring that all curbside yard waste must be placed in recyclable bags – bags made of paper or compostable plastic.

Haulers are required to leave behind yard waste that has been collected in traditional, non-recyclable plastic yard bags.
